Proposal for Restructuring R C Dutt Road, Baroda
Baroda Municipal Corporation
R C Dutt Road is a 1.9 Km long 25 M wide Road connecting
the main railway station to Race Course Circle; a premium
residential locality. The Road envisaged to serve quaint
detached houses on large tracts of land had to respond to
intense commercial high rise development on either side.
Introduction
Project
Baroda Municipal Corporation wanted to - with minimum
investment, intervention and inconvenience – correct the
urban imbalance by restructuring the R C Dutt Road by
making a place – with spatial identity and clarity; with clear
hierarchy for various activities; with appropriate cultural,
narrative and commercial references - wherein no section of
users will feel out of place.
